Engine Compartment Cleaning

Any particular do's/don'ts? Is it OK to just spray it down with a hose?

MJC123,

I warm it up. Then cover the air box intake (I use duct tape over inlet holes). Spray on Griot's engine cleaner and let soak. Wash it off with a hose. Remove the air box cleaner cover. Then immediately re start.

Arnie is infamous around these parts
Best way

Put on a pair of cotton work gloves and spray them with vinylex and use the gloves on your hand to clean everything. Respray as necessary. All the concours guys use this trick to clean the engine and compartment works well on hoses. I know won best in show using this method on my cab

Arnie the cleaning nut
