Single turbo conversion

A better question would be how would you plumb the intercoolers...
It wouldn't make sense to run a split and retain the stock fender mounted ones, all the piping would create some serious lag.
I suppose if you're building a drag car, one monster turbo with a high-speed stall in a tiptronic box would probably be pretty gnarly and have gobs of top-end. You could use a nitrous spool-up kit in conjunction with the high-speed stall to offset quite a bit of the lag.
In the end it doesn't make much sense except to "be different".

I just finished the conversion (protomotive). I thought long and hard about going with your EFI. But I have a protomotive shop right by my house. Both systems have pro's and con's I like the idea that Motronic is still somewhat true to Porsche but I think the EFI is a more complete package. I have to run a stand alone traction control (system from England). Where, you do not.

Y65MPH-- can you elaborate on your traction control? Don't mean to hijack thread.
Coincidentally I can guess where thread starter is actually coming from with the question he poses -- Big HP Nissan GTR and Supra's are often converted to single turbo and reach astonishing numbers-- hence his question. From my experience modern engine management systems and turbo technlogy in general have put the lag of the 930 in the past.Perhaps the question could also be asked- would you convert single turbo(ala 930) to twin if you had the opportunity?
