I'm planning to take my new turbo in later this week to have some Lumar (brand) tint installed on the windows. My car is Arctic Silver and I'm wondering what percentage others have tinted their cars? If possible, please post pictures.

I previously had a C4S with a pretty dark tint and I'm thinking of going a little lighter this time.

I live in sunny Florida and tint is a must!!

i didn't tint my car,but all my other cars are tinted...do 35%all around...looks awesome on artic silver...

 

I live in Florida and just tinted my Mercedes with Lumar 35% and it looks great!! I think you will be just fine with 35% plus it's legal.

I found my paper work and my C4S had 15% all around. It was great at keeping the sun out but as Duane pointed out is illegal in Florida (although they never stop anyone where I live).

Based on feedback and pictures I'm going with the Lumar 35%.

Thanks, but the place that does my cars is 2 miles away from my office. Nice guys, they warranty their work and since this is Florida they are very reasonable- total cost is about $125 for the tint paper and the install.

Tinting a car is a difficult job and one I believe better left to the professionals. I wouldn't even dream of attempting to do it on my own.

What do you or other owners find is the average cost to tint a 996? I'm sure CA and FL are similar.

 

35% looks great all the way around.. its also depends on you color interior.. black interior tends to make the tink look darker of course..

 

I did mine when I was on vacation.... LA is hottt!
I did it at RBTech in LA for $250.
I got ripped off!
These tints were too dark... I dunno how many % they were.
I got pulled over on the way back to SF.

Im planning to put some tints back again!
