I think Alex is enjoying his new toy for his Birthday!
Alex got a new toy for his birthday and it was HELL trying to get this from Hertz.
http://www.shelbyautos.com/gt-h.asp
They are only making 500 of them and they are not for sale to the general public until Hertz starts to auction them off. They are all serialized and signed by Carrol Shelby. This is like driving a legend. The old Shelby GT350's are going for big bucks nowadays.
Don't let the nice invitation on the site lead you to believe it's as "easy as pie" to get one of these. It was like taking wrestling a porterhouse from a rabid pitbull.
We made reservations and the GT-H's were readily available.
Much to our chagrin we need the following:
Airline ticket showing round trip air fare
Out of state Lisc.
Visa card (no debit card and no cash).
After he met all the requirements, they had the audacity to show him to a Chevy Lumina
After speaking to the highest ranked person at the site, he was granted a free weekly rental of a Grand Marquis
So, a phone call to his retained attorney results in 2 of the GT-H's tucked in the Hertz garage and the following pics are a result
That's my wifee in the car btw. The car drives very nice and we are putting it through the ole Chris/Alex Panasonic Test Drive Routine
