frankly not much out there will be faster than a 600rwhp TT.

I had an 88 Stang that was framed, caged, tubbed, lexan windows, glass body panels, gutted, Aluminum interior, shortened 9", 15" wide GoodYears with a 310 cubic inch 9000 rpm roller cam small block Ford...

Best run, no juice.... 10.85@133

I have run against several low 10second domestics in highway runs (60-130) and I always smoke them. This includes my buddy's 800RWHP TT C5 Vette, he ran 10.58 @ 134, when we ran on the freeway I whooped him 10 out of 10 times. It seems that these 996TTs shine from a roll and will put down cars with higher HP and lower ETs. That's why I keep saying "ET isn't everything!"

I have had similar experiences with my prior set-ups. With my current set-up, I should have not only a higher trap, but also a lower ET, than the above-mentioned car. Their only advantage lies in the launch, as I can't pull a 1.5 60 foot.

most domestic cars are not geared for high way runs... they max out at 130 to 140 mph. its the launch that gets us.. thats our disadvantage.

You are exactly right!! What's funny is everyone doubted me when i told them i ran my friend 01 rt10 supercharged viper, 10lb pulley, water/meth injection and so on and he only beat me 3 times by a cl starting in 2nd,3rd and 4th gear pulls to 150-160! He put down 738rwhp and several porsche and viper guys witnessed it and hes on viperforums and no one would even ask him.

Funny because i just came across this thread about a sc viper vs slightly modded c6z06, http://www4.forum.viperclub.org/show...b=5&o=&fpart=1

Posts 5+6 are froma viper owner who also has a heavily modded turbo he claims! Here are his posts which were quite surprising to me as well because i witness it first hand that vipers arent as fast as their number's, same with ALOT of other american muscle cars or drag cars who get low 1/4 mile times!

My car dynos 705rwhp and I raced a 911 X50 and I pulled him by only a car to a car in a half. These Vipers just don't run as hard as they should.
I bet my 911 turbo that puts down about 640rwhp on pump and on race gas close to 700rwhp will pull my Viper hard. Don't get me wrong I love Vipers this is my fourth viper. I just think Dodge needs to up its game with more hp and less weight.....

The key to this is WHERE the car makes its peak power, alot of those aftermarket SC cars make power at the low end whilre the 996TTs make it up high(especially the K24 cars) so when you guys are at 100mph, you could be making 500RWHP while he's only making 425RWHP, the V12 Benzes make a lot of HP and TQ down low, hence the low ETs and low trap speeds.

Very true, didnt even think about it that way! Anyway its like my car is quick on the street and coming out of turns, but these cars double its pull on the highway from 60mph on up, its insane!

Exactly. The fact is our cars shine from a roll...which is actually what I prefer.
