Something to think about on your 996TT...
The older our cars get, let's face it our 2001-2s are actually getting on a bit, the more wear/tear we find. One of the most common issues we've found on the NA 996s (and Boxsters) was the coolant expansion tank cracking, ageing and getting a slow leak. The plastic isn't of the greatest quality but just about evertime we pull an engine and look at a tank on an 01-02 996TT the tank ends up looking like the yellow one in the picture (vs the new one). Do yourselves a favor and check for nasty-looking deposits (from coolant) and/or change your coolant tank or at least check it. This one was pretty bad as you can see the two black areas are leaks/cracks. Swapping in a new one is easy, even with the engine in and cheap... Just looking out for you guys and I'm off to change mine

This tank is located on the drivers side of the engine bay under your decklid.. It is hard to recognize because he has taken the pic with the tank upside down.
Alex why dont you take a pic so they can understand where this is located...
