Thumbs up Upsolute tuned ECU installed.....wow!!!

Hi guys,
Had the ECU from my 04 Turbo upgraded by Rene at Upsolute NA this past week and I must say this car is truly "unbelievable". The car was no slouch from the factory, but after 1K miles of ownership I was already looking for more. Well, after having a Fabspeed exhaust, BMC intake and now the Upsolute tuned ECU installed I must say this car is Seriously fast!! Car idles smooth as factory and seems to be free of any hesitations. Once the pedal hits the floor.......WOW! I am now truly satisfied with the performance of this car. I will most likely out grow this too, but till then I am very pleased. I plan to have it dynoed very soon. Given recent dyno numbers from others with similar upgrades I am hoping for 540-550 Hp at the crank! Whatever it turns out being, I am still very pleased with the upgrades! Btw, Rene at Upsolute NA provides truly excellent service!

I'm sure if you offered a $1500 tip at the end of your tuning, they'd be happy to take it.

Upsolute works great on non-X50s. As posted before, people who don't research and ask questions about the experience and equipment used by a 996 Turbo ECU installer to desolder a precision electronic component have no one to blame but themselves, especially if they have an MIT engineering degree like you Mansour. And if your Saudi family has the $$ to send you here for school and buy you expensive toys as a graduation present , we don't give a s*** about your constant crying over losing $500 of your dad's money.

I seem to recall that there are several X50 owners who have successfully upgraded with Upsolute - I think when Mansour did it, they hadn't designed a program specifically for X50, but have since. I could be wrong, but that's what I recall from this board.

MKW - no need for personal flaming here! I find your comment filled with hate for no reason. I do not see the necessity of bringing my background or family into this.
Stephen previously posted pics of how they (Upsolute) soldered the chip to my ECU circuitry and I do not know of a way to verify what equipment my installer was using since the closest one was 200 miles away. They also used the wrong chip (an Audi one instead of Porsche) which can't take as high running temps as the TT one.
I also did my research beforehand and my program WAS an X50 specific one. It just lagged way more than stock which was the reason I was unhappy with it. I posted my full experience many times and am not about to rewrite it here.
I am just realting my experience and am not crying over $500. I do appreciate the value of money and know that it is a lot harder to earn a dollar than to spend it. I have already closed my books for 2003 and that money was treated as uncollectable bad debt and incidentally a loss.
When I last spoke to Rene (I believe he is the NA Upsolute rep) he told me information contradictory to what my installer told me. My installer understood that my car was in for a new tranny and I did not have time to check my vacuum hoses following the DV install since that could have been the cause for the increased lag according to him (it was on another TT they did). I did so as soon as I got it back (which took a few weeks) and I was still not satisified with the program. At that point, I returned my ECU to them, got it reflashed to stock and then sent it to Stephen for a GIAC program. My installer said I should be getting a refund and directed me to speak with Upsolute NA as they handle all refunds. I then contacted Rene and he said that my installer never paid for hte program in the first place and that since I am passed 30 days tough luck.
I am sorry but I would not trust running my160 thousand dollar Porsche on software by a company that is disorganized and cant do something as simple as honor a refund.

Guys,
I actually discussed future upgrades to my car with Rene and he said Upsolute now offers a Ver.5 of their software which is designed for more heavily modified cars and accommodates larger turbos. I am not sure if this software would be the same for X50 equipped cars, but I presume it would be since the most common turbo upgrade for non X50 cars is going with the K24 (X50) turbos. As far as service goes, I think Rene is great! Very knowledgeable and always available to answer questions. I really think price does not influence the quality of this product! Given its' track record I think it speaks for itself. If Upsolute is able to offer a superior product at a relatively low cost to the consumer than it seems they've established one hell of a company! It's a win-win situation for everyone!
On a side note: I think Upsolute is not to blame if a particular installer does not use the proper equipment/techniques. I think that is something that should not be held against the Upsolute software, but instead against the single individual.

Dude!?! Your selling your car and parting it out . . . why?
After all the trouble I went to crawling through the subframe and removing your stereo equipment to pull your ECU.

Glad you liked the Chip . . .

OK guys. Other than Mansour, I would like to hear from anyone that has had problems with the Upsolute chip. My dealer told me that it eats mass air flow sensors. He said that several turbos in my geographical area have either reverted back to stock or upgraded to the GIAC. I plan on upgrading next month and would prefer to spend $500 vs. $3500. I've talked to several Upsolute converts that love the chip. Let's hear from those that have had them on for a period of time. TIA.
