I think trhat many here see cars the way I do - projects. Before I buy any car, I've already decided on wheels, suspension, exhaust, etc. Once the project is done, i tend to lose interest. That's why typically I keep my cars for 12 - 24 months, and then it's on to the next car -

I can understand...I'm of a different ilk. I'd rather buy one or two for the long haul...3-4-5 years. Mods are nice......but I'd probably move up in car type, ie. turbo to a gt2 or 360 than spend too much on a mod. (I've got to admit, though, a stage 4 sounds pretty good right now. Even I can change.)

To each their own. Its all good.
I've been married to the same woman for 30 years, and she doesn't bore me yet. I figure the CGT is the same way. If it's good enough in the beginning, it'll last for a long, long time.

Maybe, maybe not.

Don't generalize too much.

I agree. If I took the plunge, I'd drive the car, not treat it too much like a garage princess.

My $.02...

People that have the kind of cheese to drop on a CGT probably have a few cars to choose from on a daily basis. I know that when I run out for daily errands I take the vehicle that best suites my needs which is typicaly not the GT3.

Also, after having spent some up close and personal time with (and in) a CGT... its not a vehicle I would want to use daily. Getting in and out is not the easiest, storage is very limited, minimal ground clearance, and the ride is very stiff. There is also the risk of accidents and the CGT is not a car that your regular body shop is likely going to be able to handle. There is also the question of service and consumables... how many Porsche techs will really know what they are doing with the car?

Everybody treats their cars differently, everybody has different plans for their vehicle. If you only plan on keeping it two years then yes... drive the crap out of it and enjoy it. If keeping said vehicle as part of a collection, while it might be driven on occasion, there may be a strong desire to preserve it as best as possible. To each their own...

We are all coming at this from very interesting, but different perspectives. I agree with all of you. By the way...I did say "too much of a garage princess". I certainly wouldn't park a cgt on the street nor would I take a 450k car to the local grocery store.

I love that interior color! Shifting looks as though it would be akward?!?

mine will be parked on the street, taken to the grocery store, and driven the schit out of everytime it's put in 1st gear, but i'd be surprised if it gets driven more than once or twice a week. like sloth said, there are other cars in the garage which better suit particular daily driving needs than the CGT (or our current 911 for that matter). in fact, we live in an area where a great deal of what we need to get to (financial, shipping, grocery, starbucks, hair cut, dentist, etc) is within walking distance. walking is better exercise than driving and the climate is always conducive to walking.

When you get yours, can I go along for a ride? I can certainly use getting away from all of this damned snow....
