Bought mine from Stephen at IA, much cheaper than dealership.

Hypothetically, I have a spare one in my car... how difficult is it to change if my MAF goes "boom" during a roadtrip.....

Very simple. Just make sure you have the torx dowel in the center. It takes a special torx wrench. Otherwise it is a 5 minute job.

Anything needs to be reset? Or is it pretty much plug and play? I'm considering a roadtrip SF-LA-Vegas and back... and I'm somewhat concerned because of this.

If it pops you should reset the ECU. It will take 58 cycles (cold starts) in order for it to clear the code. It will do it, but a month later and it will not run very aggressively albeit normal. The car will run with or without a MAF. If the MAF dies it switches to TPS and pressure to caculate the map.

If your MAF goes "boom" aas you describe..you will have to reset the codes by disconnecting the battery for like 5 minutes. Then you replace the MAF as Stephen says like 5 minutes...and you're on your way except there was a reason your MAF blew??? Are you running an aftermarket intake? Have you had MAF problems before?

It goes pretty quick. I accidentally got my last good MAF mixed up with my 5 burnt MAFS. I had to go through each 1 to determine which 1 was the good 1. Unfortunately, it was #6. The good thing is, besides how much I enjoy buying a new MAF all the time, is how quick they are to replace!

Stephen, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "it will take 58 cycles..." Mine have always cleared (ABS / PSM) on the second start after replacing a MAF. Do you really need to go through the reset proceedure?

I think the V-flow will be OK with your mods...you'll only blow one or two. If you do more...well that's the risk.
