gt700 unleashed
i finally hit the 1000 mile mark this weekend *as* i was pulling into the station for race gas. put in the 100, set it to the race program, and drive around for 20-30 miles.
the next day, i began terrorizing the bay area.
the car does not feel like a turbo car. my previous turbos (k16/k26) were violent w/ an instant slam of torque. the gt700 is effortless - the car just picks up and takes off w/o a big production. it's like an NA powerband - very wide and linear.
and it flies. holy s*** does it fly. the 1st time i punched it, i was passing someone, and i nearly ran them over. you get pushed in your seat and stay there as the MPH go whizzing by. from 60mph, the car feels like it just takes a single leap to 120. it's crazy fast.
and one sportbike learned this weekend - don't pick on loud 996tt's b/c they might just kick your *** from 80-140... like 4-5 car lengths

buddy, i neglected to mention how impressed i was w/ the 91 program! the car is seriously fast on our crappy CA 91 gas - i will no longer be stranded in "slow mode" when i'm out of range of the race gas station.

On your guys race program(110octane)... do you have to run without cats??
Buddy we were talking about this... If you have high flow race cats.. would the lead in race gas still destroy them... or would it just mess up the O2's?

I know what you mean about the delivery. It's a great powerband and really smooth. It's still fun to have a big single HP supra turbo where the delivery is violent but it doesn't always transfer to the ground too well that way nor is the power band quite as usable...

I got to ride in car today, and I can attest to the power and the smooth delivery. It's almost deceiving how fast the car is - when Chuck first got on it, I was thinking "hmm, his Supra feels faster," but then I saw how fast the road starting whizzing by . 4th gear is especially impressive, it feels like 2nd in my car .
Very impressive, now I want one!
