Gt700

As far as I can tell, the GT700 package does not upgrade the internals? Is this correct? If it is, any worries on internal damge? thanks, I have a big birthday coming soon and I am lusting for that package

That's correct... it is an option to build the engine but you don't "have" to.

I've had the GT700 package since January (1st on my TT and now on my GT2) and I've had no problems with the stock internals at all! I always use good fuel.

I always use race fuel 100 octane or better, because I keep it in race mode. You can also switch over to "pump" mode that allows you to run pump gas with no problems.

Our gas here in AZ is only 91 premium with up to 40% ethanol, so I choose not to put that garbage in my car, although I could if I wanted to.

That hardly qualifies as long-term reliability. Let's revisit this subject 75K miles from now... but I doubt you will even keep your car that long.

And after owning a prototype package like the Protomotive one, that is why I typically go with what is proven... I'm just boring like that.

You seem to forget, 700hp 996TT, been there, done that... before almost anyone on this board.

OK, what's your point? I have a car that I love that is still the fastest GT2 (with proven calibrated statistics, not claims) around. I have had no problems, and I drag race and road race my cars.

Well, I wish you the best of luck then. We will just have to agree to disagree.

We just have different opinions on tuning, that's what makes this board fun.

I believe that's 600+ to the wheels where internals become vital. (700 crank x 80% = 560 4WHP)
