Statman:

Statistical design of experiments rules! It amazes me how many people just don't "get it". But ... I have never tried to apply it to my driving.

This kind of misses the point. We would first want to experiment with many factors at 2 levels (bold level setting) and understand their relationships with each other and the response variables (measured outputs, e.g., trap speed, 1/4 mile time, etc). Then we would subsequently iterate to discover optimal settings (this is where we would do incemental level setting). So in the attached file...6 variables each at 2 levels.

For levels (This is where I am guessing):
Rear Tire Pressure (RT): 1=35, -1=30
Front Tire Pressure (FT): 1=35, -1=30
Launch RPM (RPM): 1=8000, -1=7000
Rubber: 1=slicks, -1=MPSC
Burnout: 1=yes, -1=no
Clutch: 1=pop, -1=no pop

Run the 8 runs and collect as much data as possible (measure many outputs). Also record environmental conditions, track conditions, race weight, etc. I'll analyze the data for you.

Racelogic Driftbox Graphs and Run Logs

Well, I think I have VBOX Tools figured out, so here is some data. I have some run logs from 0-60,30-50, and 50-70 as well as a graph of the best run in each group. I will have some new numbers next week when I am on vacation. I have the Cam Solenoid solved so I will have accurate high speed data. I have new wastegate springs so I will hold 1.2+ bar consistently. I will have additional 1/4 times, Mustang Dyno sheets and the all important 0-100 and 60-130 times as well. The final chapter in the ZC experience is approaching. Anyway here are the best numbers so far.
0-60 3.78 Sec
30-50 1.41 Sec
50-70 1.42 sec.
If anyone wants individual data points just let me know. Kevin

Hopefully they can be improved with the new wastegate springs. I had the car out today for about 50 miles and it holds a consistent 1.2 thru 3rd and 1.3 4th thru 6th. Also I am still running the 1.0 bar file that was needed with the new springs. The 1.0 bar file is for my wife and some timing is taken away down low. My 1.2 file would have gone to 1.5 bar with the upgraded springs.I will have all my new programs 1.1, 1.25, and the 1.3 file on Wed and I am off work Fri for 12 days. I will provide all the data that can be reasonably expected during that time. I cleaned the terminals on my cam solenoid and so far so good, but I do have a new one on hand just in case. Kevin

Took the car out tonight for some 30-50 and 50-70 blasts and so far so good.I have the new wastegate springs installed, but still have the wife's file in the ecu. The programmer with all the new files will be here in the AM, but those WG springs are a cheap performance boost. I lowered my 30-50 times from 1.41 to 1.24 sec and my 50-70 from 1.42 to 1.29 secs. I will post the graphs and run logs when I finish up this thread with my dyno sheets and 60-130 times in the near future. Kevin

Are you running stock exhausts with ported headers?

I have the ported and polished stock headers that came with the package. I have the EVO Miltek exhaust, which is a very nice exhaust... I could not be happier with it. Kevin
