The point is, you are not going to get much more power out of either of the above mentioned cars. On the other hand, the 996tt can be modified easily. There are many 996tt turners available and pricing is competitive. Do you really believe a street legal lambo would stand a chance against some of the faster modified 996tt's on this board. If so depending on where you are located in the US, I'm sure we could arrange a little contest. Heck we have some slightly modified 996tt's in Northern and Southern California, Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Flordia that would probably be available.

No doubt about it though, any turbo, not only a 996TT is much easier to make substantial hp gains than a naturally asp car.
My point was that it is merely possible to mod a Lambo, and i was shocked that he got charged 45,000 for a 50hp gain.

I saw the Galardo at the LA Auto Show, and it did not look very impressive. Maybe because they parked it next to the Murcielago, and it looked like a toy next to it's big brother. It just looks too small (maybe it was a visual illusion or something). I did not have the same perception when they had the 360 next to the 575M.
I think nitrous is kind've considered cheating, or not really "fixing" up your car to many people. I have seen Supras with 200+ shots of Nitrous. Many, many rice cars with the stuff. In terms of engine modification though, the Lambo would require major money. If you add nitrous, than some kid that I have seen in a stripped out CRX, with a built up engine running 200 shot was getting into the 9's.
Doesn't ABD (Al Burtoni) make some aftermarket parts for Lambo. I think I saw some exhaust, cluth work, etc.

Not trying to add fuel to the fire, here, but with regards to the quickness of an X50 vs a Gallardo, don't they both trap at around 119-120 mph with ET's in the upper 11's? Motor Trend (Oct. 03) had an X50 run an 11.86 @ 119.9 mph (and a 0-60 time of 3.7). I haven't driven a Gallardo, but I'd say they're too close to say with such certainty one is significantly quicker. The Gallardo has the X50 on HP, but the X50 does have substantially more pound-feet of torque, 457 vs. 376, and only slightly more weight to lug around. My $.02

I would imagine you could bolt a twin supercharger setup on a Countach, for the same price i was quoted on a Diablo, roughly 15,000k, and run very low boost 4-5psi.
As for Al Burtoni, he sucks. Garbage stuff at extremely high prices.
