New Techart Wheels & Coilovers on my 996TT
Okay, I know the rules state I have to post car photos first, but I haven't been overly proud of my 996TT because it pretty much looked like every other Turbo on the street...until now.
So, here are the first photos of my 2002 996TT a la Willie Vega (click here or link below). New 19" Techart Formula GTS wheels, ContiSport2's (both from 6speed sponsor WheelsBoutique), and Techart Vario Coilovers (direct from CEC). Install, alignment and ride ht. set were done in Reno at Sport Haus and they took good care of the car.
To me this is the best combo for the Turbos (though i know opinions vary). Let me know what you all think...

(see before/after shots - I can attach them if you guys need me to)
Peace...

AIRjordan...
The shop originally set it to Techart specs, but it wasnt low enough. So they dropped it a little more. I am not certain the exact drop but my feeling is that it's just over 30mm F & B. My request was that it sit as low as possible all around, without any rubbing at all, no rolling the fenders, and no wacky lowered VW Bug camber in the rear.
It rides a little firmer than stock but nothing jarring at all. In fact i much prefer feeling the road a little more. Stock the 996 rode really smooth and had a little sway compared to my Viper which also has coilovers. I wanted it tighter.
All in all, i could not be happier...though i only have about 75miles on the car since it was all completed. Just looking at it puts a smile on my face. Nice way to lose $10K i say. Anyway, we're going to check tire wear in about 1000 miles...which at the rate i drive that particular car, will be about Christmas time. (weather suks here come winter in Reno/Tahoe area).
Let me know if you have more Q's.
