Revised: Found a car in Chicago! 02 x50 w/ aerokit

I have narrowed down my choices to 2 cars and I would like to know if someone can help me out who leaves near the Chicago area. Having read about crazy scams that dealerships do (like the Tony Little car), I was hoping someone on this forum can help me out.

Please PM me if you are able to help.

Thanks.

Carlo

Also, if someone can recommend an honest and trustworthy Porsche dealer in the Chicago area (northwest area) where I could do a PPI (if you can recommend a specific service advisor, that would even be better), I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Yes you can go to my mechanic at Loeber motors... he is on the NW side of chicago. he is the HEad mechanic for the dealership I have him and only him touch my cars for the last 6 years. I live 2 miles from the dealership as well.
His name is Rich. he is awesome. hes been a P car mechanic for over 25 years.
call loeber in skokie and the service managers name is Bill Lindahl. he is also a great guy. drop my name. but make sure Rich inspects the car.

Well, I hope that everything turns out. We have a tentative deal pending tomorrow's PPI.

I'd like to thank mark for volunteering to add another pair of eyes to check out the car.

Here's the scoop:

2002 996TT x50 with factory Turbo aerokit. Aside from that, not much of any other options (heated seats, and design package, whatever that is - I think it's the silver accents); 17k miles; 1 owner car; very clean.

I don't have decent pictures but here's the rear (i had to do a little photoshop work to make the background a little more pleasant):

I have my fingers crossed that everything checks out good at the Porsche dealership PPI.

BAD NEWS...

The car looked great and everything checks out EXCEPT for the computer download.

Evidence of high frequency of mechanical over-revving (as opposed to just hitting the rev limiter, which was also very frequent. Bottomline, they indicated that car has 4x higher incidences over-revving than would normally be allowed for Porsche warranty claims.) so the car was driven hard and really abused.

So I guess the search continues...

Too bad since the car was gorgeous!

I know that is disappointing; however, it is 'proof positive' that a PPI pays for itself............. good luck in your search!!

Definitely. Rotors were also cracking. not a good sign for a 17k mile car.

I am going to post separately since I just asked them to send me the printout and I don't know how to interpret.
