marski, ill take the bumper off tomorow morning.
ill make sure things are tight and then drive it around without the bumper.
ill try to floor it in Neutral, and have someone stand behind the car to see if anything is makeing wierd noises.
since the car is in neutral, would the symptoms be the same since the turbos arent kicking in?

I think once you take the bumper off you will see the problem. you see, one cant really see if there is a leak on the top where the hose connects to the IC.
THEN PULL ON IT HARD TO SEE IF ITS LOOSE.
if thats Ok then check one lower hoses... from the turbo to the IC.

ok.
something similar happen to me few weeks ago.
I blown a hose my mechanic put it back and had the same symptoms.
I was going crazy.
Finally found out when i took of the intercooler hose underneath was no
O-ring.
someone said(factory i think)every time you disconnect the intercooler hoses use new o-rings.
I hope that will help.
Good Luck

billystang: what exactly doesn an oring look like?
zippy: i heard from a few not to touch teh gaps of the fr6 plugs. i eyeballed them to make sure they arent way off, and are within range or the ones i took off. they all looked good and even.
UPDATE:
guys good news...took off the bumper just like a few suggested, looked at all the hoses. the drivers side upper intercooler hose( the one thats kinda hard to see if its in all the way) was disconnected.
i guess when reinstalling everyhing i plugged it in. it seemed all the way in, but the metal fatener was probably not in all the way/the right way. When i floored the car,and created boost, the pressure going thru the not fastened all the way hose, seperated it from the intercooler. so that explains why on startup thier was no problem (except for the wierd idling), and after a few medium throttle runs the car was making a whooshing sound and was driving horrible.
i tested the car yesterday. i will test the car again under heavy boost. At least i now know what the nature of the problem is, and if the hose is still loose (although i made sure the metal fastener is in all the way) ill know what to take care of.
THANK YOU GUYS! couldnt have been done it without your knowledge

I knew it.... when u plug them in pull on the hoses make sure they don't get loose... they sometimes seem put in all the way but the minute you pull on them they come out....

This post is the reason I'm going to sell my 996 and get a turbo. The experts on this board know how to hook someone up. The only thing more amazing than the knowledge you guys have is your willingness to share your experience and technical expertise. Thanks toall who contributed.
No, I'm not involved with this car, I'm just impressed by the brotherhood of the turbo.

onetime: you are 100% correct. some of the guys here know thier stuff and share it with everyone.
oh and just for everyones info the bosch fr6's make the car feel super smooth, and super strong.
i guess i needed these for awhile (although it says in the manual sparkplugs need to be changed at 30k), i guess when your chipped and running higher boost you put way more abuse on them plugs.
the car was sluggish at 20k miles with the stock plugs, occasional check engine light at 4.5k rpm, now its super smooth, pulls really hard and is a dream to drive. ill probably change them again in 10k more miles just because i drive the car hard... its well worth it.

Check the lower boost hoses, either the clamp on the turbo side, or the "posilock" retainer on the inlet of the intercooler. I would put 5$ on the lower left hose blowing off the intercooler, but you should have a CEL on. Did you disconnect the battery?
