Amplifier mounting in trunk

I would like to mount an amp on the rear vertical wall inside the trunk but of course do not want to destroy anything behind the wall ( like the diff unit ) . Can I safely drill 4 shallow holes there?

I realize its location specifc , has anyone here done this?

I have seen some stereo installs utilizing this space.

Thanks!

I think the gas tank is there. I have thought about the same also, and think I would have to pull the carpeting out, and use some wood behind the carpet so the screws do not go into the tank.
