i will get u guys video , of my evo9 ( not a nine second evo) with the mods ,i have listed , pulling a stock 996 tt. and giving the v10m5 a run fo rits money till end of 4 th gear ...lol then that thing is like it has nitrous .

 

I don't doubt it one bit. A friend just picked up a bone stock brand new evo 9 as a fun car. We took it out and I drove it around hard, and the car flat out impresed me in every way. The evo 9 is on a diff. level than an evo 8, 100x better out of the box with not a lot of lag and it pulls hard to redline without power tapering off! With mods I can only imagine, they can get very fast

yo ILL exactly ,and thats why i got one i drove my buddys around and i was sooo impressed , it wsnt even funny , went and baought one the next day ...i needed something tubro like right away .cuase i wont be getting my 996 tt till christmas time due to remodeling the cribb . and the m3 is going bye bye ..

 

Nice man, event hough that's a toss up between an M3 and Evo, i loved the M3 with some mods even more, but out of the box Evo 9 hands down! The handling was flat even despite its ride height, it was a carefree type of fun, unlike my turbo taking it out late night being slammed like an inch off the ground LOL! But yea, when i said it pulls hard to redline well this is comparative to things in its range, the power impressed me compared to a stock evo 8, stock m3 and things in that league. I mean it by no means feels anything even like a stock 996tt, even Gt3 as in "pull hard" but rather impressive for a stock 4 cylinder turbo car

 

Just to be clear of my questions:
I know that the EVO8 and 9 are extremely competant cars!
I know Markski very well and his car's accomplishments!
I was questioning the EVO discussed with the mods listed and I was
saying that was not a 9 or 10 second car, period.

the 03's were Evos that did not respond 'as well' to mods vs. the 05 and especially the 06 (IX). An IX with a turbo back exhaust, test pipe and tune will put down 996TT power to weight...thats under $2k in mods installed. The early ones really needed smart part choices and reputable dyno tunes.

the older ones with alky this and air intake that and crappy 'toons' are not that impressive..seen it many times. tons of mods with stock like power. But tuned right they are monsters with 200hp per liter no problem and thats on the stock turbo.
