What is the hardcore Porsche enthusiast's opinion of turbo Porsches?

I would argue Mitsubishi is the best turbo carmaker. Their turbos also end up on all kinds of cars, BMW's 335i as of late. Flash an IX Evo and you have 996 TT power to weight. Thats pretty damned impressive for a 2 liter!
Anyways, thats another thread....

I agree completely. I had a Toyota TT (95) that I drove for 8 years then modified, amazing car. That motor was so solid that as you know some guys are putting out 1100 RWHP out of it.
Who is the best turbo manufacturer? That question doesn't have an anwer.

I think in a way, the turbo is one of the more pure cars on the market because unlike many cars like the BMW M3, GT3 etc, you dont know EXACTLY what is going on at all times...this causes the driver to be VERY sensitive to what is happening and really be in tune with the car. Also, as far as outright grip, speed, and power is concerned...what other car is like the Turbo???(for something in its "class"...EVOs are *****es...they defy too many "car" laws...hehe...)
just my .02 cents...
just my .02 cents...

While we're on the topic, BMW could easily take over the Supra's throne if they built the bottom end of the 335 heavy-duty enough.....
I'm surpised nobody stepped into that niche and Toyota let it go.
