Question Roock or RUF

Hi! I am a new member and a long time Porsche fanatic. I have a '03 TT that I really love. However, I am addicted to speed and would like to upgrade power. I have done much research and carefully read everyone's postings but still cannot decide. I am close to doing the RUF 520 conversion or the Roock RST 540 mostly because of resale value (if any) and warranty. I also really like Stephen at ImagineAuto. Sorry to rehash. Any thoughts?

If you are doing any mod for resale value, you are doing it for the wrong reason.

I would go for the Ruf 550 conversion or Stephen's IA650 package. Stephen is a great guy and he will go out of his way to make sure you are very happy and then some.

Of course, Todd @ Protomotive is my personal choice, but I'm a little biased.

By the way where do you get the RUF conversion done at? Who in the US is doing the conversion? I would like to know some more information myself.

Thank you for your input. I would like to clarify. I don't want to increase my resale value. I just don't want to hurt it. I probably would not buy a modded car myself. Also, do most subscribers own or lease their vehicles? If I didn"t own it I might be more inclined to mod the heck out of it and drive the crap out of it. My real plan is to enjoy the mods and then probably remove them before resale.

To Z06J: RUF and Weissach are very easy to communicate with and are on this board to your right. I have talked with Asgar at weissach and Natalia at RUF they are very helpful. Asgar informed me that there are no price increases despite the Euro/ Dollar disparity. Currently the 520 HP conversion will cost you 19,200 + you must pay an additinal 2,000 for technicians airfare and lodging, AND LIFT TIME.

Another question klong, does the 520 package only include the engine upgrades or does it also include wheels, and body panels?

Don't know much about Roock, but I have been extremely pleased with my Ruf 550 and the entire experience.

Car feels bullitproof, pulls relentless and looks amazing to me.

I would do it again in a second...

The service from Ruf is top notch, first class all the way.

I have the EVO/IMagine Auto/PES-tuning stage 2 program. I really love it. Improvement in low end power is amazing. The turbos spool much more quickly. I don't have much to compare it to other than my friends X50 turbo. He has diverter valves, airfilter and europipe state 2 loud exhaust. He regularly pulls 1.0 bar. I drove my stage 2 and his car back to back and it isn't close. My car pulls much harder and power is more instant. In comparison, driving his car, I would floor it and just wait as the turbos built up steam. And I only have stage 2!! I can only imagine the kind of power and the feeling of driving some of the cars fellow board members have. Good luck.

I'll second RufMD's comments. I also have the Ruf 550 package and love it. Their PSS-9 suspension kit is great as well.

Good luck...

I have to agree with RufMD as well. I have the Ruf 550HP/PSS9 package and have had zero problems. Asgar at Weissach and the Ruf people were all very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
