01 vs 02 differences

Hey guys, i'm thinking about getting rid of my 04 g35 coupe and movin on up to a turbo! Are there any big differences between the 01 and 02 turbos, like there was between the 01 and 02 carreras? Thanks!

Same interior differences. Slightly different center HVAC vents, different cupholders integrated just below then instead of taking up an entire DIN slot, different radio headunit, BOSE system available for the first time in 02 (much better than the pre-02 systems), glovebox (pre-02 did not have one). I believe that's it. The Carreras have one additional interior difference and that is they moved the digital speedo from the center tach gauge to the left side speedo gauge (stupid IMHO).

When I was shopping for my TT...the only difference that mattered to me was that the 2001's are the lightest ones.

01s are considered the 'best' but I personally am staying away from one due to the 2nd gear pop out issue.

There's a poll regarding 2nd gear "pop-out" issues posted on the forum right now; and out of 18 voters that have voted so far, the numbers of problems in relation to year of car look like this:

2001: 5
2002: 6
2003 and newer: 7

Although the poll has only had 18 voters up to this point, from the data gathered so far, it looks like 2001 might be one of the safer years for a TT if you're worried about 2nd gear pop-out. Here's the poll:

been discussed a million times.

2001= no glovebox, and bose stereo was not standard (car is lighter!)
early 2001's had solid spoke wheels (heavy).
I believe X-50 package was not available until 2003 (?), I know it was
not available in 2001.

I believe the X50 package was available in 2002, and then in 2003 it became the Turbo 'S'.
