I just came back from a road trip from South florida to the Carolina Mountains, the car loved the cooler weather, 1.1 bar instead of .9 or 1..In second gear pulls from low RPM's I am somtimes getting a moaning (maybe a honking sound, hard to describe) sound. only at low boost, not sure if its wheel bearings, diverters (they are new), or something else, anyone know about this? Car is boosting fine and running great. thanks

 

sounds like the d/v's to me...

mine moan (or rather honk) under light (+ mani press) acceleration, but i have gotten skilled at making them honk/moan often...

maybe we could play a tune together??

im going to the evo d/v's this weekend (i hope)

Honking is the notorious noise for stock DV's!!

wheel bearings are a whirlllllll sound and continue at all speeds(just replaced mine) moan at low rpms reminds me of a girl i used to know

 

Lollll! Wheel bearing noise is horrible, a loud obnoxious roaring as speeds increase!

mine can moan/honk from 0.2-0.4bar (positive manifold pressure) under light throttle....

if i stomp it, i can get a quick honk(sometimes), but then they seem to work...

 

I could play "oh when the saints come marching home" with my stock diverters.

 

hehe... I love stock DV's. They're the BEST

NO MORE honking here, thankfully....

i had the evo d/v's installed today, and they are awesome. boost seems to build better (maybe mine were leaking??) and the car is great!
