I bought the 100-400 used from a guy in New Hampshire off ebay. It was a very pleasant sale and I saved a few hindred bucks!! I am working on that photo. Work is still in the way of play. Patience grasshopper.

Canon and Nikon used to battle heavily in film days with the slight nod going to Nikon from most people, now in digital, Canon is kicking Nikon’s booty. You will see probably 3-1 or more Canon to Nikon in the pro digital ranks. All the big white glass is Canon. You’ll see it everywhere.
Ken, some of the lenses are 500mm's like mine others are 600mm. Big, and Heavy. You need a strong tripod, big ball head, and a nice backpack ... and you need to work out!
Here is a shot with the Canon 500mmf4.5 IS USM and 1.4xII tele extender. Not a particularly great shot but when you are out in the field (not a zoo), you need the big glass to get good shots.
