To Zaino or not to Zaino?

I've heard great things about the product. But, I've never used it.

I've also heard that it can be a ***** to remove if you decide later to go back to a more traditional wax.

Can you guys who've used it give me some feedback to help me decide whether or not to give it a try?

Thanks in advance,

Don't bother. I used it on my jet black M5. It looks artificial--kind of like plastic. It's also a pain to use. I am much much happier with Pinnacle Sovereign and P21S on my black TT, former M5 and current M3.

it is a real hassle removing once you put it on. also, they do business only my mail order (or at least used to). there claims are unrealistic--read their materials and you will see.

Zaino won the car wax test....It is awesome stuff and lasts a long time. Looks great on Dark cars. It also protects the paint against UV sun damage unlike waxes. It is a polish and is easily removed by washing the car down with water mixed with Dawn Blue dish washing detergent. Once you have put it on in a few coats, it lasts for months. Everytime you wash the car, after it's dry, you just use their deep gloss enhancer mister and wipe it away. Not knocking waxes, but it's nice not to have to wax the car every few weeks and deal with the dreaded white residue on non-painted parts...imho

rockitman, what car wax test? i have seen a number of tests and zaino did not come out on top or even come close to the top. in any event, waxes are strictly a matter of personal taste, just like car colors etc. IMHO, based on my personal experience, a really good carnauba wax has a more brilliant, wetter, deeper shine than a polymer like zaino--further, i did not like the way my M5 looked with zaino. there are also some threads on the m5 board where a guy named greg tested zaino vs. other waxes on his TT and M5, posted the results via photos etc. his conclusion--zaino didn't do what it advertises.

My $.02...

I used it on my Ocean Blue C2 and I am of the mind that Zaino and other synthetics leave dark colors very reflective but lacking in depth. I liked it b/c it lasted a long time and was easy to use. I have since switched to Klasse All In One (synthetic) topped with Soverein carnuba and could not be happier. As has been said... go with what looks best to you.

I am a huge fan of P21S but it doesnt last more than a month. I will be trying Max's trick of Klasse all-in-one and P21s this Friday for the Orlando meet. We will see how it looks.

I guess that's a fair statement... It does come down to personal preference. Who knows, I may try something different when it get nice up here again. Maybe I will like the results better than zaino...so I guess it's worth a try to experiment. I like Max's idea of a polymer base finished off with a nice carnuba. Perhaps I will try that out.

I use Zaino on a light colored car (Polar Silver) and it looks and works like a dream. The bluish tint of Polar really shines with the Zaino. And the Zaino is very easy to apply.

I use Zaino with a top coat of P21S on both my arctic silver '03TT and black '02 S2000. Without the top coat Zaino lacks depth especially on the black. P21S is so fast and easy to apply that a once a month application is no problem!

Zaino is very easy to remove, dish soap takes it right off.

I have used it with great success on silver cars. I have also used it and seen it cloud black german cars.

I intend to use it on my midnight mettalic 02 turbo this spring and see how things work out. In terms of longevity it is clearly superior to every other brand I have tried -- and much, much cheaper.

I think when used properly the Zaino system works well on just about anything. It's been nothing but good on all of my black cars, and I've seen the results on white/light colored cars....awesome. I have also heard a lot of good feedback on Pinnacle Souveran.

I used Zaino the first year I had m car, true nothing beats it IMO. But it was waaaay too much of a hassle to apply, let alone buy the stuff ( at the time he only accepted checks by mail?? circa 1975).
I have been using P21S, very happy with the results.
