I've been wondering also. My guess is that his attourney's advised him to keep tight lipped until the saga is over, so as not to say anything that could be used against him.

That is a scary concept: forum text used against you in court......
Can not wait to hear the outcome.

Sorry for a 3 year old bump. My dad just paid $14,000 for a new Corvette motor, and I was hoping Porsche was a little better about their warranty than GM. Guess not. Just wondering how you made out with the whole thing.

Also, anyone know of a make or model that actually covers their cars at track events? Lotus? Dodge Viper? I'm not too excited about buying a car marketed for track use, then getting the bone after actually using it for what it was intended.

After the Porsche regional manager told me to go pound sand, I went away. I ended up footing the entire $12k bill for the transmission repair and losing all respect for Porsche. Porsche did not stand behind the product in my case, and ALL used 996 Turbos should be suspect. The transmission on this model is very weak. Frankly, the 996 Turbo wasn't Porsche finest hour ...

I found the Turbo to be poor on the track due to the weight, so I have downgraded to a GT3. I'm now in a stock 2010 GT3 and much faster on the track.
