Has anyone bought or have experience with the carbon fiber GT3 seats on ebay? They are replica GT3 seats - supposedly exact copies. Any feedback appreciated.

 

don't do it. it's like a fake prada bag that'll fall apart in 2 weeks.

 

So far, I am not. I was only going to do it if the positive response was overwhelming. My main concern is safety in an accident i.e. how would they hold up.

 

I agree - to many negative comments on "fake stuff" - seriously doubt any other company spent time truly designing a seat like Recaro/Porsche has done. BTW carbon fiber does have issues for shelf life vs manufacturing technique. You would not want to pay for the good stuff - that is why race teams have big budgets and rarely use a part more than one seaseon - that is half a year !!! Get the real thing - you will be much happier in the long run .... IMHO.

It says $1600 for the pair! You never know sometimes these things are manufactured as good as the real thing!

 

can u find out the weight.... thats very important... and also does it come with the brackets... if not thats an extra $500.

 

Says it comes with aluminum brackets and weighs 6.5kg.

 

This is the other reason the get GT3 seats ... I am so polite opening the door all the time !!!
