remove front drive shaft gain 18% more power???

remove front drive shaft gain 18% more power???

is that true 18% more hp to the rear by removing drive shaft ????tell me it's so

I hardly doubt that...maybe a 5-8% gain in housepower to the wheel when you take out the drive shaft, front diff, and front axels (ie RWD conversion).

No, it is not. The loss from the crank may be about that, but then again the loss from the crank with two wheels may be about 12%. So the gain isn't 18%.

was on the way to the gararge to remove my drive shaft before dinner.... maybe i'll wait .....

I think there must be some confusion. First you are obviously talking RWHP because there will no effect on FWHP by going RWD. Of course there will be more hp to the rear as there is normally a 95/5% ratio and it will be 100% after FWD is disabled...am I missing something?

gee wizzers never thought of that .... just read todds thread and got all stoked up ... really got out my floor jacks and everything... your correct the hp has to go some where when you un hook the ft wheels.... i must be sleepin

You will feel that 5%. It's like 20-30HP depending on your power level PLUS the steering feel is MUCH imroved. PSM works great.

I know that if you disconnect the front and rears, you'll have 0% HP going to the wheels. That's a fact and has been confirmed by a panel of experts.

but........

what if you disconnect the REAR shaft, and have a FWD setup..... (if it were even possible..lol)

ugghh... imagine that tq. steer......
