I don't know anything about Vetts....
so I need the experts to tell me...
many of us have trapped 127 mph or so... with 1/4 times at 11.5 at best...
granted the TT is heavier by lets say 400 lbs... but the Vett does not have 550 rwhp( at least I dont think so) like we do in order to run 11.5s...
So how does he do it?
Im just comparing it to out TTs... those trap speeds are very very high for a 500 crank HP car. (I think thats what they have stock?).
Im not questioning the fact but rather trying to understand how come they can do it with 100 hp less?

I think much of it has to do with gearing and weight. These cars are able to use more of their available horsepower during a 1/4 mile run (zo6 long first and second gear)than a 996 turbo with a short first and second gear.Add about 50 rwhp for the weight difference and the two become very close. My car(gt700) as an example made about 600 to the wheelsand ran 134 but did not go through the traps under power because I ran out of gear about 50-60ft before the traps.Had I been able to cross under power I believe my traps would have been a mph or two higher. On the other hand if i didn't hit my shift points properly it would trap about 132.Not to forget that this particular guy is very experienced with racing Vettes and has about 55 passes on this car before this 10 sec pass.

Anyone else notice the evidence of a Hurst Roll Control Line-Lock?

Nice enhancement in the water burn-out phase. Also helps in taking up driveline slack before launch----kinder to components.

Another great application is for 6-speed owners who are poor drivers and live in San Fran.

My understanding is that the Z06 is underrated by a good 30HP+. I've heard of cars Dynoing at 470 WHP. That's like 530+ with 12.5% drivetrain loss.

Lighter weight, N/A torque (easier to modulate) and more emphasis on a launcheable car makes a big difference. IMO the launch factor of the TT is very disapointing. All they needed was to design out some wheel hop and lenghten first gear (or give us more revs).

Like I said, its the car all the girls want to ride in. They think the Vette looks too mean but the Porsche looks "cute".

It looks like he's using a line locker but then he might just be very good with left foot brake control. Use of a line locker is not strictly bone stock, but this guy is a talented drag racer flat out.

He actually does not have a line-lock. As stated before, he has NO MODS done to his car whatsoever besides the tire swap. No extra gauges, no fancy stickers, no exhaust tips, no aftermarket speakers, nothing.

If you're interested, he even did a write-up on burn out techniques without line lock... pretty common procedure. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1468972
