How do you launch a tip. car?
Hey guys I new to Porsche having now put about 3,000 miles on my 02 TT X50 car with turbo, wastegate, ecu, BOV's, BMC filter, plugs, and Fabspeed upgrades. My car makes plenty of power after the upgrades but I can't figure out how to launch the tip. transmission . Any help you guys can provide would be greately appreciated. Thanks, John

Easy. Move up to pre-stage and hit your line locker. Dial up say 300 psi. Now bump on to full stage. Activate your transbrake. Now get right up on the stall convertor. You should be at full boost. When you see the last amber, release the line locker and transbrake all at the same time. Ensure your wheelie bars are set correctly to avoid flipping your car over onto it's roof.

Take off PSM and put the display to show boost. Press the brake pedal and press the gas down all the way. The car will want to go and you will need to press hard on the brake. The car should begin to build some boost. Let off the brake and the car should take off much stronger since it will have some boost built up on take off. Practice and you should get it right.
I should warn you that this is not the best thing for your torque converter (the auto equivalent of a clutch), but neither is launching a stick and moderate use should not unduly wear out anything.
The concept is called brake boosting. The 997TT Tip is actually faster than the 6 speed because you can build boost prior to take off. It is actually designed for the above.
I don't have a Tip nor have I ever driven one or tried this method. But it is the same for all Automatic cars.

The car is running strong with the exception us us rookies not knowing how to take off. It ran 123.56 mph at the track last Friday night, ET was lower than I thought it would be a 12.005. If I could only get a running start it flies when you get going. I had Lasik mono surgery last tuesday and let my son do the driving. He said the car is so smooth it like doing 65 MPH. Every time he lined up it was with some "pro Stock" slicks no exhaust etc. It was funny they would leave him at the starting lights and he would run them down at the end.

12.0 is pretty bad... and the 123 mph is what a stock K24 does as well.
what was the 60 ft? 2.0 ?
Did u run it on pump gas? if so what was the boost set to?
