There is plenty of cooling going on. I love the excuses. We dyno cars all day long and tons of different cars. We know how to dyno, we know how to setup cars, and we know how to recognize a problem. Sucks for Rob the customer that nobody will stand behind the GIAC. Look at the AFR. Take 10 min and maybe put attention to the product.

Instead of getting defensive and taking offense to my observation, can you offer me the information that I was asking about? What is the timing doing and what are the intake temps throughout the run? What you should realize is the "problem" needs to be diagnosed and having the AFR and boost log is not enough information to properly assess the car. I will talk to Rob directly and I am sure that we can get the car diagnosed and sorted out without a software change.

I am here. I did not data log the Car Todd. I simply ran it on the dyno. I had no reason to plug into the car since it was already chipped GIAC. We where simply testing the power difference from AWD to 2WD. You are welcome to come by and data log the car. Just let me know and I can strap the car down and have it ready. I feel there is more power to be had with this car. Its very rich in the midrange and lean out at redline. I am sure it could be adjusted by Garret in minutes if he had this Graph.

As for cooling we have two HUGE fans blowing air into the IC ducts, We also spray the Intercoolers down with water. They are room temp at the start of the run and no even HOT at the end. We also use a fan to blow air into the Engine compartment air intake. We also have blowers on the Front of the car. PLENTY of air.. The Dyno Room is also temp controlled to top it off. This setup is the normal Protocol for 996 testing. All 996's get the same setup of fans and temp.

As for 3rd gear or 4th gear.. the Load is adjustable. The time can be the same for 3rd or 4th. Why run the car into very high speeds for no reason? Not much else I can say on this subject. I have been doing this for many years and do this every day

I think the real question is if Rob feels he has a problem or not. The car runs fine but could use some tweaking to be optimal.

Thanks

Clark Turner

Thx for the post Clark. I of course want the car to run as well as possible. The car has always felt a little sluggish above 5k rpms. It would be great to extract an extra 20 or 30 bhp out of it. Do you think the AFR is dangerous at all? One member said it was "dangerously lean"

Thats hard to say... Its def lean.. And very rich in the middle. The Fuel table needs to be expanded to cure that rich spot and more fuel needs to be put in the top end. Contact GIAC to see what they suggest. Email them the dyno plot.

Call me Rob, I will take care of this. We should dyno it here and log it with PIWIS. I am sure we will uncover the missing peice to the puzzle.
