I have used Zymol Concours forever, want to test Zaino, which one for my Porsche
I have a Black Turbo. I have always used Zymol Concours, but, want to try Zaino. Which one should I use? Best Shine? Best protection against the salt, snow, and generally **** on Chicago roads. I rarely drive my car in the winter months, but, still need something that would protect against the elements but still produce a show quality shine. What to do?

LSM: If you want to do the full monty, you are best off buying the show car kit that contains the clay bar, Zfx accelerater, Z2 and Z3 and Z6 deep gloss enhancer mist. The Z2 offers the best shine. Z3 is used to help hide swirl marks if that's applicable. If you don't want to clay bar the car first(gives best results since it removes all contaminants from the paint) You need Z2, Zfx(accelerator) and Z6 gloss enhancer at a minimum.
After you strip the old wax of with Dawn Blue dishwashing liquid(recommend by Zaino) your first coat of Z2 will have a few drops of the Zfx accelerator in it. After it dries and you buff, apply another coat or two of the Z2 like any other wax/polish. Finish off with Z6 gloss enhancer. Oh yeah, you need the Zaino car wash soap for washing the car(comes with show car kit too), so that you don't strip the previous coats of polish you have on the car. Like I said, If you want to give it the best shine, buy the show car kit, and claybar the car first.
Regards...

The Zymol Concours provides extreme depth of color and shine but will not last long as it is a white carnuaba. The Zaino or other sealants will last much longer but will not provide much depth of color, just reflection. I suggest applying the Zaino and then topping off with the Concours. That way you have the best of both worlds.

I have the zaino kit that I haven't had a chance to test it out. YOu're welcome to pick it up and try it. THere is also a zaino retail dealer in Wilmette.

Many people find the arguably minor loss of depth when using Klasse (or Zaino) versus a Carnauba to be far outweighed by the products' many positive attributes. Additionally, as you said, any 'depth concerns' can be alleviated with a quick top coat of a Carnauba product....so the point is virtually moot.
BTW LSM...I have tried almost every conceivable wax/sealant, and in terms of sealants I have found Klasse to be a superior product to Zaino both in ease of application and final result. Just pick up a Klasse Starter Kit from Proper Auto Care and you'll be all set!! Black comes out amazing...and the PCA judges have never complained to me about the depth!!

I am not saying this is a universal problem or even something that happened to me after every application....simply sharing an experience that supports what myself and Shank have heard about Zaino and German paint. Additionally, the fact that both of your Porsches are light colors means you would likely never see the type of hazing I was experiencing....even if it was there.

Ray M,
Typically, if you got-(or)-get hazing or smearing with Zaino, it's either from
1)Applying too much product
2)Not letting it dry long enough
3)It's very humid out
4)Not using microfiber towels to buff out
5)Not removing prior brand's polish or wax first
I'm not trying to change your mind about it, I'm just speaking from my experience on dark colors as well as light ones with Zaino.

I too have experienced Zaino hazing on a black Audi S4.
Never on any other cars though. In my opinion, people who pay more (much more) for products like Klasse and Zymol are fooling themselves into believing that cost = performance.
Zaino, properly applied outshines and outlasts every other wax I have ever used for less money.
