Tiptronics ARE Fast
Just got off of the phone with my buddy Mike@EVO and he gave me some really good news. A stage II (flash, exhaust, intake etc...) 996TT tiptronic car just keeps on running 11.15 @ 124.5mph over and over
You have to say the tips are fast...

I was there and I dont recall any "Tipp" running 11.15's today - maybe they did and I just did not see it, but I highly doubt it!
A Stage II on K16's is not going to run 11.15 @ 124.5 - sorry!
My old Stage IV 996 was a "Tipp" and would not run ANYTHING close to a 11.15 at this same track.....

I was in shock too.. I'll call Mike back but apparently he was getting SICK launches and with a 124mph trap speed and 1.6 60 foot it absolutely is possible. With my car busted up in 2004 I ran 10.96 @ 124 I'm going to check but I just thought I'd pass on what he told me...

True - but a 1.6 60 foot in a "Tipp" is DAMM GOOD! It so hard to brake tork that car right and pull off a 1.6.....

I am not arguing that point...just saying a 1.6 will get the job done... I would sell my Mother-in Law for a 1.6...Kevin

I know "how" it's done. I would do 1.6s all day long on _street_ tires. It took some experimenting and once I had learned it was dialed in. I didn't know how until 2005 really. In fact I should say the end of 2004. I did it by chance actually and it changed the way I would launch for good
But back to the the thread, I've been wrong before but having owned a tip I can tell you that if you do a 1.6 60 foot your low 11s easy

Sharkster the drag strips around here are closed for the season but I can't wait to try this tip. launch next season. Hey just practicing I laid two LONG black marks up my driveway ("didn't mean to" at least that's what I told the wife) . It was the first time I ever got the car to spin.. I'm use to my 03 Cobra w/565 RWHP that spins at 60/70 MPH.

He already told me. For 2 easy payments of just $49.99 I will tell you... j/k
He said to: Put the tip in 1 gear, PMS OFF, pull up on the E brake, hold the foot brake down as hard as you can, begin applying the gas to 2700 RPM's or so until you see some boost (on the gauge) and feel the car trying creap, then let the E brake and foot brake go and smash the gas. If I have it wrong I hope he will correct it. I am still a rookie.
