Upsolute or GIAC Flash???

These are drastically different in cost. Is one drastically better than the other?

Also, if I am considering other mods such as exhaust, intake, headers in the future, should I do the ECU now, or wait until I do other mods?

most important thing is air in air out... get a good ex sys (EURIOPIPE) port your stock headers then get a giac to match your mods . kevins k16s are very good as is a evo intake( paper filter) i
like giac because it can be changed for pump gas or race gas or stock for the dealer have a great time moddin is great fun almost forgot dv s are a must good luck steve

GIAC seems to be one of the best. Don't skimp on the software, too many problems if it is not correct. Some people on here have had good luck with upsolute. Do your homework before buying. I have found that you usually get what you pay for. search the threads, there have been many topics on this.

I think the main difference between the two is that if you were to upgrade turbos or go further you have no options with the Upsolute. If you were to stay at stage 2 and keep the K16s I think it would be a good flash for the $$. But I think most people eventually go to the larger turbos and therefore you will be wasting your money. I think it really just depends on your goals. Most all tuners will give you a credit if you buy software from them and charge a very minimal fee if you do decide on going with a different setup.

If you are only doing a flash.... Upsolute will do well. But if intend to do turbos etc... go with something else...

$500 for upsolute is a bargain! If in a year u decide to do something else go spend the 2-3k on another tuner Like Markski says if you are doing major stuff real soon go with a more custom setup. If you are doing exhaust and intake upsolute! Why waste all that money right now in a year you will have gotten your $500 worth!

I totally agree. I think that I am just going to do exhaust, intake and ECU. Those alone can get you close to 100 additional HP.....I think.

Upsolute has programs for k16/24 hybrids and k24. If you are now running the k16's and get another set of turbo they will reflash for $150. I myself could care less about different tunes with the giac because I only run 93 octane in my car and don't feel it's worth another $1700 for that option.
