Cool Rennsport Reunion in Daytona... whose going???

Hey guys. The second Porsche Rennsport Reunion is fast coming up. It is going to be held from April 23-25, 2004 in Daytona, FL at the Daytona International Speedway.

I am curious to know how many 6speeders are planning on attending this event and on what days. I already have a room booked in the area for the entire weekend. I hope to see many of you guys there, especialy the Florida contingent that made such a great showing in Orlando.

there will be a dozen or so of us from the Carolina's region going on thursday a.m. and leaving on sun. It should be outrageously good fun. I don't know if anyone else in my group is a 6speeder. I can't wait. Will we have some way of identifying those of us who go? Maybe a ribbon on the name badge or something like that. Perhaps a meeting place at one of the booths or bars or hotels?

I am planning on going down early Friday morning getting there around 9:00am, doing the round on the track at 11:30 and leaving later in the afternoon. So count on me for sure and maybe the wife too.

They are having track touring on Friday for all interested people. I think the 911's go out at 11.30am. Track touring, not DE... so I would expect to see a pace car... but at least you can say you have driven Daytona (not open for DE use).

I'll try, but it's unlikely that I'll make it. Schedule permitting, however, my dad will make it with the '67. He mentioned something about being invited so that he could bring his car in order to represent 1967 in the "Best Of" each year (or something to that effect) event. I asked him last night if he would trailer it down (from Virginia), and he said he was going to drive it down if he went

Sloth, do you need a special certification to do it?

AFAIK, since its track touring and not a race or DE no tech inspection or safety equipment are required. It is really just a way for you to say that you have driven on the historic banks of Daytona International in your Porsche. I am not expecting it to be a any true test of anybodies car or driving ability...
