I check the oil after getting gas, after a hard drive while I'm letting the turbos cool, and when I'm sitting at a stoplight with nothing else to do. As the oil level gets lower, I check it more often.

I also normally wait until I can put an entire quart in before adding oil.

How ironic, I just checked it a few minutes ago, and before that, I had not for a month or two. I usually check it every month or so, when the car was new, it guzzeld the oil like none other. Two liters after 3k miles. But now that I have 5k miles on it, it is not drinking it as fast, I am going to the dealer this week to top it off, probobly a liter.
