What cars, overall...are really better than the Porsche Turbos?

This has been brought up before and proven many times. Guys will sell their tt's for something else and alot of them end up back in the tt eventually. I know that I would love some of the other cars out there, Ford GT, Lambo, Ferrari but they will have to be an addition to my tt and not a replacement.
The tt is perfect until I can afford to add anything to the fleet.
Just my humble opinion of course!

In addition to the previously mentioned accolades, how many other super performance sports cars can fit a 3rd passenger or a child seat? The only one I can think of that even has a rear seat is the Supra, but there isn't room for a child seat or a person taller than 5 feet.

There have been some negative comments re the turbo and PSM. I never really thought about it much. My 996 turbo is my first sports car, but I've done my share of racing bikes and I'm not happy unless I'm pushing the limit.
Last year I was at Laguna Seca for a track day and was having a ball pushing my car and myself. I went into the corkscrew too hot and before I knew what happened, the car broke loose and began to spin to the right in the exit. Before I could even react the car righted itself and became controlable. I'm not a religious person, but it actually felt like God just put his hand on my car mid-spin. My first thought was "that was a miracle." My PCA instructor was in the car and simply said "that's what PSM can do."
My turbo was amazing. And fortunately, it still is. If It weren't for PSM my car could have been totaled. So I got a great lesson that day AND I got myself and my car back from the edge of being destroyed.
I'm a true believer and all I can say is PSM really works when you need it.

Great post dtmarsh. PSM has never spoiled my fun and has saved me several times. I remember reading somewhere that only a couple of people have ever posted a faster laptime with PSM off than with it on, one being Walter Rohl. The article then went on to say he leaves it on most of the time anyway.

How about it, oak? Ever driven like a hack .07% of the time?

I was being facetious. Honestly, I can't imagine all these guys saying that the PSM is intrusive you would have to be driving 10/10 and over the edge to have psm kicking in. I just laugh when someone mentions psm is way too intrusive. yeah ok. gotcha. (hack)

Some driving enthusiasts, most publicly motoring journalists from enthusiast magazines, object to some of the implementations of PSM. They contend that by making it impossible to explore the dynamic behaviour of their cars, overzealous PSM (ESC) systems spoil much of the fun of driving. Consequently, some manufacturers allow drivers to disable ESC systems, and/or use ESP systems that allow greater levels of under or oversteer before it intervenes. Some even provide a setting so the user can choose whether the system will intervene earlier or later stage. Enthusiasts have also begun to modify ESC systems to suit their preferred driving styles.
It has also been argued that ESC is being used as a "catch all" for poorly designed cars, whereby the basic mechanical handling of a car is unstable and ESC is used to compensate for the problem.
Another point of critique is that in the case of very dangerous drivers, the car will be able to be pushed further (and faster) before the limits of the vehicle and ESC are reached, meaning that should the vehicle become "out of control" this will happen at higher speeds, leading to more severe crashes.
In the event that the vehicle is out of alignment or has a tire with low enough air pressure to affect the steering wheel's angle, the yaw rate sensor would conflict with the steering wheel sensor. If this were the case, the vehicle's powertrain control module may interpret the driver's actions as trying to turn the vehicle, rather than compensation for a mechanical problem.

My answer to the orginal question and I have thought about it, is that there isnt any besides the P car.
I seriously cannot come up with any other sports car that can be as durable and bulletproof as the Porsche can be. You can beat the hell out of it on a daily basis take it to the track on the weekends to stretch its legs and still drive your kid to school in it on Monday morning.
Granted it will brake down as anything mechanical will, but to be able to drive it for 10,15,20,30 years is beyond anything out there. I am not talking having a car for 30 years and it having 3000 miles, NO the Porsche will take 100k and alot more if the owner choses to maintain it.
I am sure a japanese something could probably do the same, but they dont have the feel, look and presence the Porsche can deliver.
