I have officially been bitten by the Porsche bug, I may have an opportunity to get a nice 03 (LSM's car) or should I keep my 01 and spend the extra money and mod it, what would you do?

 

Do you have a buyer for your 01 Turbo?
What will it cost you to upgrade to the 03 Turbo?

 

I may be able to get out of the 01 for what I paid, this would mean the 03 would cost me an extra $16,000 for the switch, I'm thinking is an 03 worth $16,000 more or should I use that money to turn my 01 into a monster.

 

What made you think of getting a new car anyway? I mean, what's wrong with what you have?

 

i think my tt must have a curse- whoever drives the car becomes psychotic ! Rave, if you get the "03 you'll want to mod that as well and then after awhile get sick of it and want an "04. take it from a guy going thru "porsche rehab"- hold onto it.

Boy! Did I just get into an expensive hobby or what!! This Porsche thing is crazy.
I will error on the safe side, keep and mod the 01, because I know for sure, I will want to mod the 03 and that is just to rich for my blood.

The warranty ending on my car soon and surfing this board.

According to an article the 01 is the lightest of all the 996TT.

 

By how much though? 10 lbs? =)

 

There is more than ten pounds in the glove box and the dash frame to hold the glove box.

 

I'll take a glovebox for 10 or even 20 lbs, no problem.

you should forget about the 03 and move right into a gt2. this will improve you driving experience on those slippery east coast roads . Seriously, if you are a real enthusiast, keep the one you've got and learn to enjoy what you've got which is already a lot . If and when a new turbo comes out you may not even want one. Look at all those 993 guys -- serious pride in ownership
