I need this because I found a private party willing to sell me a set of wheels they claim came off an 04TT...However, although the outer valve cap has the newer style metal nut, the inside of the wheel does not show any 'cutouts' in the spokes and I am very confused....
TIA

I looked at my hollow spokes, the front had PN 996 362 136 04, smooth spoke backside, and a chrome metal valvestem that takes a 10 of 11 mm wrench.

Mansour, I don't know how much it'll help but I'll offer this up. On the 993 turbo twist wheels I know that the hollow spokes are ribbed on the backside and the solid spokes are smooth. If you run your hand across the back of the spoke, you can feel the difference. I'm not sure if this holds true for the 996 turbo twist wheels though.

EDIT: Oy, my bad guys, the reverse is true. ebaker, thanks for correcting! The hollow spokes are SMOOTH on the back side and the solid spokes are RIBBED.

Thats what is confusing me!! logic suggests that the ribbed spokes would be hollow and the flat ones solid....Someone on renntech posted pics and apparently the reverse is true!!

It sort of makes sense that the solid spoke wheel would have the "ribs" on the back ... it looks like maybe they reduced the weight a little by removing some material from each spoke.

The solid spoke wheels have lightening ribs while the hollows are smooth and hollow inside.

Msindi, The ones you are talking about seem to be hollow, I have both the ones on the Turbo are hollow with smooth rear on the spoke and metal valve stem, the GT2 has solid with ribs on the back of the spoke and rubber valve stem.
