Need Help - Gauge Placement

Guys

I am going to hopefully install an AFR & Boost Guage along with my Greedy Boost controller. My only problem is that I have Navigation and the Climate Controls were re-located at the bottom and the Nav Disk Slot/Opening is in the way..

Where can I place a Guage set up without getting rid of the Navigation?

I will get rid of Nav if I hav to as I never use it, but would like to keep it if possible!

I know if I got rid of the Navigation Stereo unit and the Nav Disk opening, I would have a ton of room to install a guage rack...

If I did remove the Nav Unit and the Nav Disk Slot, I would put my new AFR, Boost Guages & Greedy Controller where the Nav unit is now and then add an aftermarket Stereo Deck to where the Nav Disk Opening is?

Any advice?

Here is how my stock console looks now

it should fit up against your bat wing and under the climate controls. check out my comments under the other new turbo gauge thread.

Interesting unit! This may be something I look into.... How is the accuracy of AFR & Boost? Is it on point....

Do you have any pics of how your unit is displayed or mounted with the 2 side tape?

Thanks

sorry for the gigantic pic. this is the only one i have and i had to leave it big enough so you could see it. the unit is right below my radio. the small display in the cubby below it is a tire pressure sensor. you could easily do something more custom, but i didn't want to go to crazy with this.

Thanks Dog! I am sure I can mount it somewhere.... As long as it is accurate like you said, I am sold!

It's been spot on. It seems to be a quality unit. You know what would be slick, if you got rid of the ashtray and had them mold it in there.

Or, even better...Have some take the display out of the case. Put the guts behind the panel. And just flush in the display portion. Any good audio shop should be able to do that.

Or, you could mount in in the glovebox on an angle facing you. That way when you want to look at it, just drop the box and it's there. Just make sure they put the dataport for you laptop somewhere accessible. Mine is in the armrest. It looks like a phone plug so it doesn't take up any room in there.

If you want accurate AFR get a wideband o2 sensor. The regular gauges are not that accurate.

Agreed... This unit actually is a wide band AFR and for the $$$ looks good! My Greedy Boost Controller gives me accurate Boost and all I really need is accurat AFR.... This should work.

AZ - I am doing the same setup as you. I have the Autometer Boost, EGT, and Oil Pressure gauge, a Greddy Profec B and I am ditching the crappy stock navi and putting in a new Eclipse AVN5500. We have sheets of carbon here we will mount the gauges in where the Nav disk slot was. Should have pics soon!
