Hello from a new member
I have just officially begun my search for a 996TT. I have been looking around for one for a couple months but now I'm ready to buy one as soon as I find what I'm looking for. I know it will probably take at least a few months to find exactly what I'm looking for and waiting will be the hardest part. I'm not a patient person.
I joined this forum a couple weeks ago and I can only post messages, I can't reply to messages or send PMs. I can only start new threads. Is this normal? I haven't received any e-mails from admins about "activating" my account, nor can I contact them as the only way I've seen to do so is to PM them.

That's got to be really frustrating. I've never heard of anyone having similar problems with their account.
Try starting a new thread, and title it in all caps something like "MODS - I NEED YOUR ATTENTION RIGHT NOW!". Darren and Shank, the ones who can solve your problems, are both very busy men, and only scan the new post threads occasionally and quickly. They appreciate you posting matters like this in all caps to get their attention.
Oh, and welcome to 6Speed.

Just kidding. I vowed to be kinder, gentler Russ for 2007. Might as well start now. The problems you are experiencing are normal. Good things come to those who wait. Just be patient. And good luck in your search for a 996tt. - Russ

It is highly unusual for new users to not be able to post intelligent posts
instantaneoulsy...
oops, I caught myself.
my advice, buy a Porsche twin turbo, mod the hell out of it, antagonize any
and all vette and viper owners and never give up!

welcome to the club, you can reply to posts after you actually OWN a TT!
(Just kidding)
Take your time to find the car you want, plenty to choose from and prices are right for buyers market.
When you do see the one you want (and you will know it), BUY IT!!!!
Happy hunting, and good luck!!!

Im on 996 TT hunt as well..... My main problem with picking the one i want is the interior, I love the sport seats so much more then the loose leather ones and i really want navigation....have not had much luck coming across those options and keeping with in my budget.... Good luck to you though.....and for anyone else is it that big of a deal to change the seats out once i get the car?

Welcome and good luck on the hunting. I am also looking for an '02/03 TT, but want the heated supple leather seats, and am only finding cars that fit the rest of my requirements with sports seats. LOL. Swapping the seats isn't that hard, just a few bolts on each track holding them to the floor. Plus I suspect the wiring harness is different depending on the options on the car's seats. Most TT's came with power and lumbar, so a TT replacement should have that also. Finding used seats at a reasonable price might be a trick. I've seen them for sale at Hershey, PA swap meet, but I suspect they are available from Porsche dismantlers.
My opinion is find the car that has what you want; there are plenty available. But then I'm not a patient person either, so I understand.
