silversurfer's incredible RUF does a 60-130 run!

At yesterday's Porsche meet in Seattle, silversurfer aka Ben brought his awesome RUF RTurbo newly modified by a local tuner.

We then went on a run to see how his car would perform from 60-130. I followed in my 997TT. The results were astounding! The first run I was flooring it from 4th gear while he was pulling away from me. The second run, I tried the same thing from 3rd gear which was no help either! This RTurbo was seriously FAST! A friend was riding with me in my car taking videos of the run.

Some data from vincentDDS:

Today Ben's Modified Ruf did 60-130mph in less than 7.42s shifting from 3rd to 4th. It's a 3800lbs car.
Here are some comparison numbers:

60 -130 mph (96.5-209.2 kph):

5.9x - VRAlexander / Protomotive 1,000+ HP TT (AWD @ 1.3 BAR) / AX-22
6.15 - DMK / EVOMS 800+ HP TT (RWD) / Driftbox
6.6x - Jean / 3.8L 993 TT (RWD) / AX-22
7.93 - KPG / Ultimate MotorWerks 640 HP TT (AWD) / Driftbox
8.10 - 9Eleven / Orton 530 HP GT2 / Driftbox
8.76 - Scotty slc / Techart 510 + EVO V-Flow (AWD) / Driftbox
9.10 - Bill S / 993 Ruf R Turbo 490 HP / AX-22
9.56 - Topgun / X50 TT with Revo software (AWD) / Driftbox
10.96 - Woodster / Orton ECU & exhaust TT (AWD) / AX-22

For the sake of comparison, here are some 60-130 times for some fast production cars:

6.1 - Saleen S7 Twin Turbo
6.9 - Mosler MT900S
7.0 - Ferrari Enzo
7.3 - Porsche Carrera GT
8.9 - Mercedes SLR McLaren
9.1 - Porsche 993 RUF Turbo R (100 octane)
9.2 - Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06
9.4 - Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0
9.5 - Ferrari F430
10.9 - Lamborghini Murcielago
11.7 - Ferrari Challenge Stradale
12.1 - Lamborghini Gallardo
12.2 - Porsche 996 TT

And of course the VIDEO!

Moot point, but VR's time is a bit faster than that... (EDIT: well, in "kill" mode at least)

I can't imagine VR's being faster than 5.9x! He's got an incredible car, that's for sure!

Both aren't ceramic rotors. I'll let Ben explain when he finds this thread.

Can we find out what exactly was done to his car to improve upon the RUF upgrades?

Jump or not that car moves! Regardless that is impressive. You need more MOD to hold on for better video coverage

I thought all the RUF vin cars have the intercooler intakes over the back of the fender instead of the side?

Fronts are steel rotors with PCCB calipers. Rears will soon be matching. Just had ordered wrong part #'s. I call it the Ronald McDonald Ruf

Haven't weighed it, assuming Vincent is getting that from another source. Just replaced the stock seats with GT3s, going to be removing the rear seats soon, lighter battery, that's about it in regards to weight savings.

running the pump gas program (92 oct.) with almost 3/4 tank. Boosting at 1 bar. outside temp was mid 50's...Also running 295's on rear.

I'm not even sure what the AX22 graphs look like as I'm unable to view them on my computer so it's hard for me to tell whether the run was a good one. It felt good, but you know how that goes.

Let's just say this car has a LOT more in it.

If you look to my original post "my Ruf is going under...", you'll see that mods include turbos, headers, exhaust (one of a kind from Europipe), fueling, clutch, programming.

By the way, Jason and I weren't racing so I wasn't getting "jumps". I was running the AX logs and he was filming. Although if we were running, I don't think it'd have been much closer

It is a RUF vin??

If so, it probably has built in roll cage (heavy but best mod ever!)

Did you (will you) email the AX-22 file to Jean for verification

(not doubting, buy I own an AX-22 and have seen some funny things)

Marty

It is a Ruf Vin with the IRC. Yeah, I want that IRC in there, this car has a lot of...how you say...zehorsiepower

I will email the files to Jean for verification. I've got no idea how any of that works so I am at the mercy of the court.

Congrats Ben... very stout times for a full weight car running only 1 bar on pump gas...I know I am 3800#'s full up as well. I am sure Kevin has outdone himself..again!. Kevin
