Perfect Power in Chicago-Thumbs up!
Went to their shop in Libertyville, a northern suburb and met with Sol Snyderman, the owner. We talked for an hour about Porsches, racing, mods and cars. I was extremely impressed by his experience and honesty regarding different available mods for my Turbo cab. The bottom line is that he is a CAR GUY, one of us. I plan to do my mods, a B and M short -shift, PSS9's, diverter valves, and a GIAC chip through his shop. He didn't really know about available 19" wheels and the rubber that would fit my car, although he is a dealer for Fikse wheels. I'll probably wait on those, since it is really only bling-bling.

Perfect Power a few times over the past year or so, and have had nothing but good experiences (B&M SS, Ruf undermount, electrical, brake work). Out of all the shops I have been to, Perfect Power has provided the most satisfactory work. Sol is one of the most experienced, honest, and professional car specialists I have ever met.

Wow! Those are some pretty nice comments about Perfect Power! I received a call from a friend who said I should look here today since I was being 'revered' (venerated?) by 6speedonline. I don't know who most of you are by your screen names. I'd like to, but how you reveal yourselves here is up to you.
As long as I have your ears, let me address a few questions and say hi to long lost customers who are thousands of miles away! The blue Fabcar ME is here. It is actually for sale on our website. MKW you need a new license plate frame. Send me an e-mail and I'll get you our 'latest' license plate frames and T-shirts!
I don't want to start a whole dissertation on the pluses and minuses of 19 inch wheels, but I will if you want to hear it. David, I probably never got around to all the issues, but tire availability is a big one and rim protection, or the lack of it, is the other. If the profile (30, on a 285/30ZR18) is multiplied by the width (285) you'll get 85.5mm. I believe, from my experience, that if that number gets below 80mm, you will bend wheels without leaving the road or driving carelessly. It's just not adequate rim protection. A 305/25 19 yields a 76.25. This is my opinion, and I love the look and feel of a wheel that looks like it was dipped in rubber, but it will get old replacing wheels regularly. That said, the Pirelli front tire size (225/35ZR19), in the Rosso, is unavailable and no one else seems to have a pair that is well matched in 19 inches at this time.
I guess that was a dissertation! Sorry.

Sol, I am Tim Homola and we spoke only briefly before I had to buy another 996tt so you will be hearing from me in May time frame (when I get my car). You were highly recommended by Dave Redszus at Precision AutoResearch and any body who is good to them is damn good to me! You might want to consider supporting this board as we have no one in the Chi area.

Sol,
Lou here. You installed my exhaust and I touted you and your shop back in August. Thanks again for the great service.
