Lately, I've noticed an increasing number of 6speeders selling their TT/GT2's. These cars are amazing, great mods invested, low miles, and as quick as new photos are posted they end up in the Car For Sale forum.

I guess a true car fanatic is never loyal to his ride, but always in search of the next thrill. But how can you top one of the world's top sports car for the money?

What's the next/comparable replacement? (I may be next...)

I sold my Stage 4 996TT back in June! I purchased a Gallardo and sold it and then my car now - Bentley Gt. Then 3 weeks ago I went a purchased another 996TT again to add to what I have......

I love the 996TT, have never purchased 2 of the same kind of cars before and doubt I will again! I am happy with Modified 996TT!

As time rolls on, the 996 Turbo will be viewed as an extraordinarily flexible car. In stock form it remains one of the fastest & most reliable DD cars, especially now when you factor in the number of cars available at nearly 50% discount from new. As is seen on this board, you can basically turn it into just about anything you want with speed & handling to match. Some would argue it's too heavy for a track day star but if that were your only purpose I'm sure it could be done well. I've thought 100 times about getting rid of my car for something else and realise deep-down it would just be change for changes sake. It still thrills me to look at and drive, (1700 mi/yr. in 5 yrs) mostly because I only drive it once or twice per week. Cars I've thought of include Gallardo, Ford GT, SL 55/65/63(soon?) and another Porsche. For alot of us the chase is where the action is ...

Perhaps the speed get's old to some people? Overall there doesn't seem to be a better car than the Porsche Turbo, but I've heard people liking the excitement, thrills, and driving experience/involvement of other cars-- ranging from classics to exotics to hypercars.

People always make irrational decisions simply for a change.

That is the route I would like to take next... love the new AMs but I also would like to have a 997GT3RS before the Aston... the idea is not to let go of the 996TT and add those two (DB9 and 997GT3RS).

CGT with straight pipes is the overwhelming choice for discerning

X-996TT/GT2 owners. (or like Grussel said, just get a Cup Car and
a lincoln, I believe)

No question, the GT2 will be missed. Selling the GT2 was not about getting something better or newer. It was more about learning more of what I want and need from a sportscar. GT2's are like Porsche muscle cars. Tons of power and very fast. For me, to replace the GT2 it took a Cup car and a 997 GT3. The GT2 is such an incredible car that it took both of these to replace it.

For me the only street car that may able to replace thrill of my GT2 is the CGT. But the price is still dropping like a **** so won't be getting one anytime soon.

The thrill and experience of driving that next "dream car" is what makes me always strive for more and work even harder. It's too early to say, but my TT is a keeper even though I have my radar on a GT2 or CGT in the future (if destiny has its way).

My next dream car(s) are a new 997 Cup for the 2008 season and a 997 GT3RS with no options but PCCB.
