Happened to me also and man does the engine temp rise in a hurry,
holy crap!!

Dont know about better hoses--good idea.

My car stunk like coolant for months.

Funny seeing how many people had the same issues, meanwhile its never really been discussed before, most people had no idea others have had this happen LOL!

Martin, because of this I told Ritchie to install the Samco hose kit .
While the engine is out, it just makes sense.

I installed the replacement hose this afternoon. It was easy job:
Remove the airbox
Reach into a tight but accessible area and unclip two C-clips (similar to the IC hose clips)
Yank out the old hose.
Reverse those steps for installation.

I just found out that Porsche uses a lifetime coolant...it never needs changing. But I can't find what type to use. It is silicate free, but where can I get it besides the Porsche dealer? Also, the system contains 7.53 gallons!

Thanks all for the heads-up.

Is there something pre-emptive the rest of us can look at or do under the hood this weekend???

Without knowing any better, something like this would scare the **** out of me...thoughts like, "oh, God...why did I mod my car? There goes the whole bottom end..."
