Looks like crap....how come everyone else can bend pipe but these guys? All those segmented joints will cause increased backpressure.....and using 200 cell cats? These guys are lying their *** off claiming 35 hp gain.

They are a reputable shop and its apparently been independently dyno tested, only 7KG is pretty fabulous but would like to hear a sound clip

It's Titanium; it doesn't like to bend; using mandrels or whatever. I think you can bend it using seamless welded flat into tubing but I'm not sure...it actually looks like a well fabricated unit.

As to whether their "lying" about the 35 hp without proof to the contrary I wouldn't dispute it at face value.

At only 17kg that is a worthwhile weight drop. It would be good to hear it and see whether or not you get the resonance. Titanium will PROBABLY be in thinner cross section and may therefore be subject to more vibration/resonance.......but all that's a maybe. If they're a reputable shop I'd ask them and also ask for a sound clip.

The segmented piping is actually more expensive and far more labor-intensive to produce than would be a similar mandrel-bent bend. I think segmented piping or lobster-tailed piping is beautiful on intake piping or that piping which can be seen, but not for an exhaust that sits under the car.

I would argue the segmented bends arent going to introduce so much backpressure that it would be noticeable. However, I agree with you that I would prefer to buy a mandrel bent system.

RichardCh, I think you would be better served with a system like that on Grussel's GT2: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.php?t=54097 Its $4500 (probably less than this exhaust) is more free-flowing and is only ~6lbs more.

95 Roque; no cats on that custom exhaust........I think that Richard might have a problem with that in Switzerland.......in California we'd certainly have a problem (if caught). They get Governor Schwarzenager to twist your head around and then you don't know if you're coming or going...just kidding.

I looked at some Ti systems before doing a Remus. I could not justify the cost for something I could not see and did not give me any real performance gains. The couple pounds you can save is less than the pounds you'll lose in your wallet. Spend it somewhere else.

Exactly no cats and I'm in jail here ! and its only 7KG not 17KG, and weight saving is THE holy grail, I have asked them for a sound file, I'll post it if it arrives, I understand it costs about $4,800

7kg = 15.4lbs. Grussell's exhaust weighs in at 21lbs (9.5kg) so it is only a bit heavier than the DesignTek exhaust like 95rougeM3 said.

The DesignTek exhaust is impressively light, especially since it comes with cats. I think $4,800 is a reasonable price assuming the performance matches the claims made on the website.

Hi
Unfortunately at the moment we have no sound clip but will add one to our website soon. I can tell you that the titanium has a maximum of 100db so our customers can attend all tracks and for road use there is no resonance. Also titanium does not corrode so no more rust and only weighs 7kg compared to the OE which is 40+kgs. You will get an increase in performance 30+bhp and handling by removing the weight form the rear of the car.

Thank you

NOTICE
Hi Jon,
Would be very interested in coming down to your place and looking at this exhaust.
Has it been fitted on any UK cars yet?
Rob
