no sound

Well, the fuse for you amp is in the fuse panel by your feet. But, I hate to tell you but your amp is probably done. You will have to get a new one.

is there a fuse in the amp itself? if the fuse inside the footwell is tripped, i'd think the head unit would not be on.

check the blue fuse in the foot panel all the way to the right I believe 4 rows down and the second one over. I beleive thats the one. I posted before about this beofre check my past posts. good luck. I had the same issue. Its a blue one for sure on the right side.

My stereo did the SAME THING a few months ago too. I took it to the dealer and it was the CD Changer that was broke. The dealer told me that on the 03+ models the new fiber optics system shuts everything down if something goes wrong within the loop. They installed a new CD Changer under warranty and it works perfect.

I hope this helps....

my last 3 porsches have done this (986, 996 series). the amp does need to be replaced but you can usually just turn the car off, lock the doors and then unlock and then restart the car. 9 out of 10 times this will work. however, it happened again in my turbo last week and it took a few series of this routine to get it to work again.

good luck - if your car is out of warranty, i wouldn't buy a new amp. i'm sure it's some coin
