Removing Windshield Stickers

I have just spend more than a half hour removing the two stickers from the windhshield of my 2003 996TT. I bought it from a dealer in PA with the PA DMV stickers in place. Don't need them in Connecticut and decided to remove them as they are distracting and ugly. What a fun project!

I ended up using a straight razor on an extension to get off most of it, then tar remover on a Q-Tip, then window spray and paper towel. Now it looks better. There has to be a better way! Anyone know it other than handing the car off to the local detailer?

Try using Goo Gone, works perfect to remove all the adhesive left behind. Only a couple of dollars and you can buy it almost anywhere ie Home Depot, Target...

Thanks. The tar remover worked fine on the adhesive once I got the stickers off. The biggest problem was geting access to the lower part of the shield without scratching the glass or damaging the dash material.

Spray WD-40 on a shop towel and hold it on the sticker long enough for it to soak into the paper. Wait a few minutes and it will peel right off with the help of a razor blade. If it is a plastic sticker, go after it with a razor blade and clean up the residue with the WD-40 treated towel. No fuss, no muss, no fires.
