manalex is infamous around these parts
I'm 6'4", wear 40-42 pants as well, and weigh (a lot) more than you. I was at DE a couple of weeks ago and my instructor had the same car as me, an '02 996TT, only his was equipped with a GT3 seat in the driver's side. I tried it out and it was tight and getting in and out was a chore.

My reasons were a bit different though; I wanted to see if I would get more leg room, but that was also disappointing. When you set the sport seats as far back as possible, the door sill/frame limits the amount of travel. When I compared the GT3 seat it had reached the end of the track but there was still another 3-4 inches before it would hit the sill. My instructor said that these were OEM seats and track installed by the dealer. The result was that I had had essentially the same leg room with the GT3 seat that I had with the Sport Seats. There must be some way to mount that track so the seat can move further back.

I know I wouldn't be the first to say it, but I could certainly use another 3-4 inches.

Alex

First, Stevo should get neg rep points for putting up that fat dudes picture. I didn't need to see that.

Like Arling, I too told myself I was going to lose weight and reward myself with a porsche. I was 6'0 and a fat 250. Now I'm 5'11 and 215 with a porsche.

The GT3 seats are really nice once you slip into the seat. You get a lot more shoulder support but at my size/age getting out can be a pain. I drive my car almost everyday so I prefer the ease of getting in and out over the nice support feeling of the GT3 seats. If I could lose more weight, I would definately consider replacing.

You know what its like? A fat girl in a girdle. I'm sure she feels good in the girdle...its the getting out part that isn't so glamorous.

I am the same as you, just 240 (although being pretty muscular) i have no problems, my build at 240 might be totally different from someone elses though, BUT its comfortable once your in the seat!

Recaro Pole Positions are another alternative, based off the GT3 shell but different upper half. They run wider then the GT3's !! I had them in my M3 when i was a bit heavier, still after losing a good 75 lbs but still, i loved them!

Yea similar No but seriously, despite my weight, i look 40 lbs lighter, dont know what attributes to it other than the lean muscle mass ive put on over all of my training! Muscle weighs more than fat
