Modded Turbo, What Will I Run
#16
well, you said you weren't going to be launching hard right? Not sure if you've taken the TT to the drag strip before, but it's not an easy car to get off the line. Not saying your car can't run faster than that, just saying these are not easy cars to run in the 1/4.

I wonder how much this wing will hurt me, any way to keep it down for the run?

I cant wait to see you at the strip with Al's (ahem I meant the 750hp) Porsche. Or would that be Paul's you are reffering too. You must really know how to take my money, because my ego wont let me have two turbos in the same area faster than mine.

I have no idea what you'll put down. But I know what happened the first time I took the TT to the track, after having owned it for 5 years. It was much less than I expected.
Launching a rear wheel drive m5 is a whole different story than launching an awd turbo porsche. Just make sure you keep your time sheets!

I am basing the speed of this car on how much faster it is than my M5 and how much slower it is than my Corvette. My Vette trapped 131 with 680 rwhp and awefully bad 60's foots I figure I can get out of the whole a lot better in the TT and I honestly think it will trap 123-125 like markski said.

Yeah I am starting to learn that it's not so easy to take off in the TT but I can get regular 2.0's in a 3900 lb rwd E39 M5 then I can get less in the turbo for sure. I expect 1.9's with a maybe a couple 1.8's. and besides I got Neil lining up a New Clutch and LWFW for me anyways so the stock one is expendable.

On a side note, how much weight do you think you can get off the car with the full RWD conversion, not that I want it just yet, but just to know.

Dez goodluck buddy, dont get all hung up on numbers, it isnt exactly setup for drag racing as you know, should pull a decent number if you get off the line well
BTW Scott weighed his drivetrain components in at 120lbs for the RWD conversion!

These cars are hard to launch. Hard to believe motor trend pulled an 11.86 in a stock X50.
