What tires to get?

I have a set of Kinesis 18's coming and need to decide which tires to get.

I want these tires to work for both street and track use.

Wheel Experts recommends the BridgeStone SO2'sA 225/40/18 and 295/30/18

Anyone have any better suggestions to better, if not I will get those.

thanks,

fred

Fred: Get the Pilot Sport 2 tires -- you'll love them, assuming you don't want to run the Cups on the street. BTW, what are the widths of the Kinesis wheels you're getting?

The SO2-A is a great tire.

What do you mean? -- for all around street usage Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires are clearly the best, IMHO. Full money back guarantee.

S02As are reportedly very noisy. I vote for PS2s . According to Michellin press release , they will have up to 60 sizes in the NA market beginning March 1st . So it is now the official aftermarket successor to the first gen PS . There are Turbo 18 " sizes, but not " N" rated .

If you want ultimate performance get Corsas. If you want a smoother quieter ride get PZero Rossos. If you want a higher performance street tire get MPS2's.

For some reason, Pirelli has not produced a Rosso in the OEM 18" Turbo size for the rear. Can anyone explain why in 2004 , Porsche insists on the original 1987 PZero " slip and slide" tread pattern for their Pirelli OEM Turbo spec tire , and not the Rosso which has been out for years and is used on the reg 996 and GT2 as OEM ?

I second the positive thoughts as to both the Pilot Sports and the Sport Cups.

I run and love both.
